The United States is not the only one with massive economic problems right now. The truth is that just about wherever you look around the globe things are getting even worse. China is experiencing a substantial economic slowdown, and Japan has resorted to yet another round of money printing in an effort to keep the Japanese economy moving. Unemployment in Europe continues to get even worse, and the riots this week in Spain and in Greece have been absolutely frightening at times.
In the United States there are a whole host of signs that another recession is approaching, and the number of American CEOs that say that they plan to eliminate jobs in the coming months is rapidly rising. The world economy is more interconnected today than ever before, and that means that we are all in this together. Just remember what happened back in 2008 and 2009. The economic pain that started on Wall Street was felt in every corner of the planet. So anyone that believes that the United States (or any other major nation for that matter) is going to escape the next wave of the economic crisis is simply not being realistic.
Why do you think central banks all over the world are in "panic mode" right now?
They are firing all of their ammunition and printing money like there is no tomorrow in an attempt to keep the system together. Unfortunately, it is not going to work.

Did printing vast quantities of money work for the Weimar Republic? Nope. And it won't work for us either. If printing money was the secret to economic success, we could just print up a trillion dollars for every American and be done with it. The truth is that making everyone in America a trillionaire would not mean that we would all suddenly be wealthy. There would be the same amount of "real wealth" in our economy as before. But what it would do is render our currency meaningless and totally destroy faith in our financial system. Sadly, we have not learned the lessons that history has tried to teach us. Back in April 1919, it took 12 German marks to get 1 U.S. dollar. By December 1923, it took approximately 4 trillion German marks to get 1 U.S. dollar. So was the Weimar Republic better off after all of the "quantitative easing" that they did or worse off? Of course they were worse off. They destroyed their currency and wrecked all confidence in their financial system. There was an old joke that if you left a wheelbarrow full of money sitting around in the Weimar Republic that thieves would take the wheelbarrow and they would leave the money behind. Will things eventually get that bad in the United States someday?
Of course we are not going to see hyperinflation in the U.S. this week or this month.
But don't think that it will never happen.
The people of Germany never thought that it would happen to them, but it did.

“A Department of Homeland Security bulletin was issued Friday claiming that the riots [in the Middle East] are likely to come to the US and saying that DHS is looking for the Islamic leaders of these likely riots,” Afran tells Hedges. “It is my view that this is why the government wants to reopen the NDAA — so it has a tool to round up would-be Islamic protesters before they can launch any protest, violent or otherwise. Right now there are no legal tools to arrest would-be protesters. The NDAA would give the government such power. Since the request to vacate the injunction only comes about on the day of the riots, and following the DHS bulletin, it seems to me that the two are connected. The government wants to reopen the NDAA injunction so that they can use it to block protests.”

Russia bans all GM corn imports; EU may also ban Monsanto GMO in wake of shocking cancer findings
Russia has now officially banned all imports of genetically modified corn, citing concerns from a recent study by French researchers showing rats grew massive cancer tumors when fed a lifetime of Monsanto's genetically modified corn.
Russia's consumer protection group, Rospotrebnadzor, said it was halting all imports of GM corn while the country's Institute of Nutrition will be evaluating the results of the study.
The Russian ban is the latest blow to Monsanto, a company desperately clinging to the myth that its genetically modified crops are "no different" than traditional crops and therefore long-term safety testing is completely unnecessary. Monsanto has assaulted the French study, claiming it did not use enough rats and that the duration of the study was too short -- an absurd claim, given that Monsanto's own studies on animals are only 90 days in duration, while the French study looked at the effects of rats eating GM corn (and drinking trace levels of Roundup herbicide) for two years.

The Tide Turns: Monsanto's GM Corn Suspended In Russia
In a bold and encouraging move on Tuesday, Russian authorities suspended the import of Monsanto's genetically-modified corn over cancer fears spurred by an alarming long-term animal feeding study performed by French researchers at the University of Caen and published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology this month.
According to Russia Today:
The Russia's consumer-rights regulator Rospotrebnadzor asked scientists at the country's Institute of Nutrition to review the study. The watchdog has also contacted to European Commission's Directorate General for Health & Consumers to explain the EU's position on GM corn.

Appeals court: expect DHS to begin public comment process for body scanners by end of March 2013
In yet another ludicrous decision from a U.S. Court of Appeals, in this case the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the court issued a laughable ruling on an Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) petition regarding the flagrant disregard of the July 2011 court order on the part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Keep in mind, the DHS and their child agency, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), have completely ignored the court ruling with seeming immunity even when a Congressional report has called on the TSA to review the health risks and privacy concerns surrounding the naked body scanners.
One must also take into account the fact that DHS and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) are working on an entirely new generation of airport security technology, when the TSA hasn’t even held the required public comment period for the current generation of technology.

US Lawmaker Blames Iran for Cyber Attacks on US Banks!
The head of the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee says he believes Iran is behind cyber attacks this week on U.S. banks.
In an interview with U.S. television network C-SPAN, Senator Joseph Lieberman of the eastern state of Connecticut said he thinks the disruptions of the websites of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America were carried out by Iran and its Quds Force, a unit of its elite Revolutionary Guards. He said he does not believe these were “just hackers.”
Lieberman said he believes the attacks were a response to “increasingly strong” economic sanctions that the U.S. and its European allies have put on Iranian financial institutions.

Global Economic Recovery is a top priority of the United States.
The Obama administration set up the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) to fast track the process. And what other group is better qualified to work out the details then the primary stakeholders - the industries directly impacted by trade barriers and regulation. Not surprising, they had plenty of suggestions to get things rolling. But most of what wound up in the agreement is secret. So when some of it leaked out - people took notice. Especially the parts changing the regulations on the environmental, copyright, Pharmaceuticals, labor, media, and health. All under the authority of a supper trade court empowered to force any country to abide by the agreement.
Dr. Margaret Flowers has strapped herself to a 15 foot high metal tripod while another protester lay across the road both block traffic to a luxury golf resort where a very Important International Trade Conference is taking place. The police threaten imminent arrest. Nearby a banner sails high with a message drawing attention to the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), which attracts neighbors and conference attendees. Meanwhile, inside the resort, a spokesperson from the U.S. Trade Representative tries to explains the purpose of the meeting, the leaked documents and why no body, including Congress - according to Representative Peter Defazio, except the negotiators and industry lawyers and lobbyists can observe the meeting or see the draft of what's being negotiated.

CITIZENS TRADE CAMPAIGN
A leaked draft of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) investment chapter has been published online by Citizens Trade Campaign, the same coalition that first published TPP proposals from the United States on intellectual property, regulatory coherence and drug formularies in late 2011. Draft texts are said to exist for some 26 separate chapters, none of which have ever been officially released by trade negotiators for public review.
“Americans deserve the right to know what U.S. negotiators are proposing in our names,” said Arthur Stamoulis, executive director of Citizens Trade Campaign. ”In the absence of transparency on the part of our government, we have a responsibility to share what information we receive about the TPP with the public.”
The new texts reveal that TPP negotiators are considering a dispute resolution process that would grant transnational corporations special authority to challenge countries’ laws, regulations and court decisions in international tribunals that circumvent domestic judicial systems.

Headlines: Democracy is a Form of Oppression
The modern concept of “democracy” is perhaps the most effective form of human oppression ever devised. It has single-handedly convinced billions of people around the world that if only they cast their vote at each election, struggle behind their favorite politicians and pet political causes, they can change the world. And as each side of any given political paradigms struggles against each other, a singular agenda continues to march forth, one above and beyond “democracy” and the strategies of tension we’ve all been mired in.
The corporate-financiers of Wall Street and London, and their ever expanding orbit of proxies, client regimes, and co-conspirators have mastered long ago the method of controlling both sides of any given political paradigm, ensuring that no matter who you fight for, no matter how hard you fight, you still ultimately contribute to the singular agenda as determined by the corporate-financier elite. Thus, despite believing you have a “choice” and a “say” in your destiny, you do not. You spend all of your time and energy pursuing a false solution to fixing a system you do not truly understand, against forces you are either vaguely aware of, or entirely oblivious to.
No better can this be illustrated than in American politics where still, many people believe there is some sort of discernible difference between Republicans and Democrats. However, for example, from 2000-2012, we see a singular Western agenda of invading, occupying, dividing, overthrowing, destroying, and installing client regimes across the Arab World and to a lesser extent, across Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. However, within that period, we saw two allegedly ideologically opposed presidents in office.
The corporate media has gone through great lengths to sell each leg of the agenda in terms most fitting to each respective president’s alleged political agenda, but in reality, all that President Barack Obama did was pick up where President George Bush left off, who was in reality carrying out a singular agenda, modern empire, that has been more or less in play for decades, possibly centuries depending on where one would like to draw the line.
